To support the continued growth of our practice, we are pleased to announce the following additions to our professional staff:

  • Sarah Dauerman, senior audit accountant, graduated from Ohio University and spent the past three years at a Columbus-based regional firm where she served on the A&A Effectiveness Committee and was the firm’s liaison for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio.
  • Tyler Chaplin, CPA, MTax, tax supervisor, brings more than 12 years of experience working at a regional and a start-up firm and has significant working knowledge of corporate and individual tax clients, as well as consulting with small business clients and high net worth individuals. Tyler graduated from The University of Akron in 2010, where he returned in 2013 to complete his Masters in Taxation.

Danielle Kimmell was appointed to the Audit Committee for Summit County. Danielle also spoke on the topic of nonprofit financial data at Torchbearer’s Lunch & Learn to provide insight into their future roles as board members, fiduciary duties, and leaders within the community.

Jim Merklin and Danielle Kimmell presented to over 231 attendees (audience & virtual) at the annual OSCPA EBP Audit Conference in Columbus.

Keith Libman was appointed by County Executive Armond Budish to the Cuyahoga County Audit Committee.

Karyn Sullivan has been chosen to participate in Leadership Cleveland’s 2018/2019 class.

Savanna Roberts was accepted to the board of Akron Soul Train. She also led a classroom lesson to 6th graders at Agassiz Elementary School, on behalf of Junior Achievement, on the global marketplace and her personal experiences on transitioning from a student to a working professional.

Chad Voller earned the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification, the world’s premier cybersecurity certification, granted by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2.

On June 14-15, BMF hosted 19 rising sophomore and junior accounting students across seven college and universities for our 3rd Annual Summer Leadership Program. This two-day program consisted of a Goose Chase scavenger hunt across Akron, CliftonStrengths assessment and workshop, teambuilding exercises, and an analysis of a fraud case where students presented their findings.
