As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we’re also celebrating Keith Libman‘s 50-year work anniversary, which began with former firm Libman, Goldstine, Kopperman & Wolf before merging with BMF in 2014. Congratulations Keith!

We are pleased to announce the following additions and accomplishments of our professional staff:

  • Brianne Porter joins our Akron office as a tax staff accountant. Brianne graduated magna cum laude from The University of Akron. While at UofA, Brianne interned with us in our tax department and is excited for her full-time career with #teamBMF!
  • David Oby, CPA, MAcc joins our Akron office as a tax staff accountant. David earned his Master of Accountancy from Cleveland State University, and spent three tax seasons as a financial services firm preparing tax returns and training interns on tax software. Welcome aboard, David!
  • William Hall joins our Akron office as a senior auditor. A graduate of The University of Akron, Will spent two years at a Big 4 firm where he gained significant experience with manufacturing clients.
  • Greg Amentini joins us a part-time desktop technician. Greg earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from The University of Akron and is excited to grow his IT career at BMF!

Kristian Barr, Jim Merklin, Cindy Mitchell and Chad Voller presented on accounting and auditing updates, executive compensation tax and cybersecurity awareness at the annual BMF Employee Benefit Plan seminar on June 18th.

Melissa Dunham was elected to the board of Community Support Services, Inc., and was recognized as a 2019 Woman of Professional Excellence at the Women of Achievement Awards luncheon on June 14th.

John Jenkins has been selected to join Leadership Akron’s Signature Class 36. This program provides leaders with the opportunity to see beyond their own organizations to embrace and have an impact on the broader interests of the Greater Akron community.

Karyn Kail was selected as an Ambassador for the Greater Akron Chamber.

Jim Merklin presented to the Ohio Society of CPAs on Employee Benefit Plan Audit Season Update and Risk Assessment Refresher and participated as a member of their expert panel.

Savanna Roberts was named to the 2019 Class of Crain’s Cleveland 20 in their Twenties program – a group of inspiring young professionals that are making their mark in Northeast Ohio.

Chad Voller earned his Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification, which validates audit experience, skills and knowledge and demonstrates the capability to assess vulnerabilities, report on compliance and institute controls within the enterprise. CISA is world-renowned as the standard of achievement for those who audit, control, monitor and assess information technology and business systems.
