Treasury Extends Tax Filing Deadline 90 Days

In a historic move, Secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin has announced the April 15th tax filing deadline is changed to July 15 for all taxpayers and businesses via Twitter.

“At @realDonaldTrump’s direction, we are moving Tax Day from April 15 to July 15. All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties,” the tweet stated.

Now the filing deadline is in line with previously communicated tax payment deadlines in response to COVID-19 coronavirus. See our previous tax advisor regarding the delay of tax payments.
