Looking for an Internship?
We think our culture of work/life integration and personable colleagues is the perfect next step in your career development. Through participating in our paid internship program you will gain experience that will complement your academic work and provide a stepping-stone for a smooth transition upon graduation. As an intern, you will serve as a member of one or more client engagement teams. You can expect to have access to and receive guidance from the more experienced members of your team as you carry out a variety of client service assignments using state-of-the-art tools and technology. Summer Leadership Experience

BMF’s annual Summer Leadership Experience – Building My Future – is a 2-day program designed for rising sophomores and juniors who are considering a career in public accounting. Building My Future gives students the chance to learn more about the accounting profession and their own individual leadership styles. This fun & engaging program includes: meet & greet sessions with our associates, panel discussions with Q&A, interactive team building activities, and a thrilling “Goose Chase” scavenger hunt around town!

Applicant Requirements:
  • Rising sophomore or junior
  • Current or expected accounting major
  • Personally & academically motivated
  • Distinguished in the classroom, on campus, and in the community
Our 2018 program is currently at capacity. Our 2019 program will be held June 13 & 14 at our Akron Office. Applications will be available in October 2018 through April 2019.

Learning & Development
At BMF, we know that people are happier when offered a variety of challenging opportunities to learn and grow. To support that, we offer training through BMF University that starts your first week at BMF and continues throughout your career. We provide courses through both in-house and third-party training providers. With over 40 hours of continuing professional education provided for each employee every year, you will have a variety of topics and learning methods to choose from. Topics include:
  • Structured leadership and management development programs
  • Technical audit, accounting, assurance, tax and regulatory compliance training
  • Business, interpersonal, and managerial courses
  • Additionally, your development in enhanced throughout the year by on-the-job training with colleagues who are industry experts and ongoing personal development through our Advisory Council program. There is also the opportunity for graduate school tuition reimbursement if you choose to attend while working at BMF.
Career Progression

Performance Management
Feedback is essential to any good performance and development program. At BMF we utilize Review Snap, a performance management software tool to help promote timely feedback and provide an easy way for associates and managers to access a history of feedback, goals, and progression. Ways in which we gauge performance:
  • Engagement Evaluations, including both self-evaluation and manager evaluation
  • Formal monthly advisor meetings
  • Annual performance discussions
