Dana E. Mountjoy
Industry & Service Expertise
Analytical meets creative. Not the typical description of an accounting major, but that’s exactly the type of ingenuity that Dana brings to her clients. An English major turned accountant, Dana leverages her innovative judgment and critical thinking for her clients, especially as it applies to emerging accounting and assurance issues.
With over eight years at both a Big 4 and national firm, Dana’s diverse experience includes a variety of projects from internal controls, inventory reconciliation, and small business services, to fraud investigation, IPO and SOX compliance readiness for a variety of publicly and privately held businesses.
As a Manager in Assurance and Advisory Services, Dana maintains a close relationship with her clients, to not only provide excellent service but also offers recommendations and implements best practices to enhance their operations. From coordinating all aspects of the engagement with the client and partner to the planning process and issuance of the report, Dana works closely with BMF team members in executing, managing and reviewing engagements.
Dana’s talent comes from not only understanding the basic principles of accounting and the industry but understanding how it applies to and affects her clients. She answers the “so what” of accounting and assurance issues by tying all the pieces together to help operations and C-level management understand the controls, success, and sustainability of their business.
Dana holds the position of Chair of BMF’s Assurance Services Improvement Committee, which is responsible for understanding changes in accounting guidance and implementing processes for practical applications to their client base. She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Grove City College and serves as a board member at The Blick Center.
Prior to joining Bober Markey Fedorovich, Dana was with Deloitte in Cincinnati and Cleveland.
